Are You Struggling with Money No Matter How Much You Earn? Let’s Conquer Your Money Problems!

10 Comments 05 February 2010

Do you feel like money is always not enough no matter how much you earn? I know I do. I used to live in a dorm as a college student, and I didn’t feel I had enough money to spend on all the things I loved. And after I started working as a young professional, I still didn’t think I had enough money to spend on all the things I loved!

Why?

Because I did not understand money.

I figured it out slowly as I met more people and read more books. I also began to take control of my own money and how I want to live for the rest of my life.

Then one day, I thought to myself, “Why don’t I start a blog and share what I’ve learned with the others? I’ve always wanted to have my own blog anyway!”.

And the rest is history. Well, at least on my own history book!

I started blogging about personal development and financial planning for young professionals back in May 2009. At first, I had doubt because I didn’t know if I could keep doing it for the rest of my life. You know, blogging is not as easy as you think it is! There’s a whole lot of science behind it if you want to build a community that will read what you write and understand where you’re coming from.

But I kept going.

I knew if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be satisfied with myself.

To this day, I’m still writing. In fact, this is my 60th post, and I’m proud of it.

But, it wasn’t enough for me.

I wanted to do something more, something that would help even more people, and then those people would help their friends and family.

What could it be? I thought long and hard.

Finally, I arrived at an obvious answer: an information product on solving money problems.

Yes, I will launch a special report to help you conquer your money problems by using 10 simple, yet amazing tactics.

The special report is called “If You Want to be Rich, Start from Ground Zero“.

It is a practical guide that will help you to start walking towards financial freedom, even if you’re already earning a good salary. After all, if you’re not prepared, you will lose it all even if you get rich. That’s how rich athletes get broke after they retire at age 30, and how lottery winners become welfare dependent after they win millions of dollars.

It will be available for free download on Tuesday, February 9th, 2010.

And it’s out!

If you don’t want to miss it, just enter your name and email in the box on the sidebar. I will send the report to you after that at 7 am on Tuesday (give or take few minutes).

That’s all I will reveal for now. Thanks for your support as always, and feel free to leave your comments!

    Hi Ken,

First of all I would like to congratulate you on your 60th post and your effort to keep this blog running.

I agree that most people who do not understand on how to invest their money wisely will hurt them in the long run. A perfect case would be lottery winners who think their millions will have longevity, but end up losing everything. Sad but true.

By the way, I look forward to your and reading some of your tactics.

    Cheers,

    -Brian

Hey Brian, thanks for your comment.

Yes, most people think their problems will be solved once they earn enough money, but the thing is that money is always not enough. When you get more money, you spend more on stuffs that will potentially get you into huge debt. It’s best to make more, and at the same time learn how to keep them for as long as you could. (And not giving all to Uncle Sam, which reminds me of April 15…)

My idea is to get people started with the special report, and then delve deeper into each one of them. There will be a lot of personal development and money matters going on for sure.

Seems like you got a new blog going there, I love the name “Smart Habits is about taking Smart Actions”! And I like the theme too. Keep up the great blog man.

Anyway, good work done here!! Love your blog =)

    • Ken Siew says:

Hey Tiff, thank you! Some of the action steps are geared towards people in the States, but most of them should apply to you, especially tactic #6.

Also, I will delve more into each tactic as time goes by, so stay tuned. Feel free to let me know if you would like to see me blog about any specific topic too!

      Take care there.

What you have said is very true. I was retrenched from a Parastatal and paid more than a million which could have enabled me to lead a very comfortable and good life without having to work. I paid debts with the money and somehow, though I did not spent it on luxuries, I don’t have the money and cannot account for it. Okay, I continued with my bad habit of assisting my siblings and could even lend out money. All the people I lent out money to don’t even pay back and instead, they use me as an example. My own family members tell me that I am an embarrassment to my family since I am really struggling as a first born.

Right now as I write this mail, I am fighting with painful guilty feelings and working with a Company where I am paid peanuts, shouted at all the time and told that I should resign. I cannot for the time being as I have many responsibilities.

Sometimes you learn the hard way when it is too late.

Hey Matha, thanks for sharing your story with us. It’s common to have people coming for you for money when you get huge windfall, either a lottery or in your case, a severance. But there’s really no point fighting over what you can’t change and living with the guilty feelings forever. What’s done is done, and from your story it seems like you’ve already learned the lesson, although the hard way (don’t we all?).

But I don’t think it’s too late for you! It’s never too late to start doing something to improve your life. If you were working in a Parastatal and got paid more than a million dollars, I’m sure you have some skills to make a living somewhere else?

Stop thinking about the past and live the present. Ask yourself how you can get a better career and have a better life. Many times it’s our psychology that stops us from moving forward in life, not the actual circumstances.

So, start small, but think big. Hope this helps. All the best to you and please keep me posted!
