Hey Carole, thanks for your valuable opinion! I agree with you, but I still find it difficult to be outside the status quo unless your friends and family are also "rule breakers", if you know what I mean. Social pressure sometimes is too powerful even if you know exactly what's going on and what you 'should' do.

I do uncomfortable things much more often now since I wrote this post, and I'd say that the people I hang out with influence me a lot. Honestly, you can choose to hang out with different friends, but if your family wants you to be ordinary, that's a whole different story. I tried explaining and convincing, but showing them what I do and the results worked the best.

So, let's go out there today and make a difference! Next time someone questions you, tell them this: Just watch me.

I try not to conform to other people's standards, i have my own agenda regarding the Status Quo. I hopefully do not hurt anyone else with my opinions etc. Of course some people do not want to be outside the Status Quo and go along with many aspects of societies ideas even if they are not happy with this. For instance Marriage if people choose not to marry that is their choice and i think it has nothing to do with anyone else, and people who choose not to have children it is a personal choice and i think no-one has the right to tell them otherwise.
